Getting Help When You’re in a Healthy Weight Range – Michelle Sparkes

Getting Help When You’re in a Healthy Weight Range

I was speaking with a young lady last night and it reminded me that when you’re in a healthy weight range it can be difficult for others to recognise that you are struggling with an eating disorder. If you need help with disordered eating please don’t think you have to get “sicker”  for others to believe you have a problem. Even if you haven’t yet found health professionals that seem to understand, trust me, there will be those that do. Doctors and health professionals have to be across lot of different areas so some may not be as well versed in eating disorders as others. If you’re struggling to find a knowledgeable or sympathetic health professional I recommend you speak to the eating disorder Association in your State or Territory (go to Michelle for links). and if you would like to jump on board a free 30 minute skype consultation with me I’d be happy to hear from you.  Love to hear your experiences, feedback and questions. @mp_sparkes
